"I Wish was adapted from an 8-panel comic that I did on 25 March 2020, during the early stages of COVID-19.
On 24 March, the government (in Singapore) announced stricter measures to combat the spread of COVID-19, after a huge spike in cases originating from returning Singaporeans in the community. These measures include the closure of entertainment venues, tuition and enrichment centres and places of worship. Gatherings of more than 10 people outside of work and school are prohibited.
During that period, adults were advised to work from home and kids were also starting their home-based learning. This story was drawn from the perspective of how a child views and reacts to a pandemic world." - Josef Lee
